Ariel Gail

Professor Gail S. Goodman holds a Distinguished Chair in Psychology at the University of California Davis and is the Director of its Center for Public Policy Research. Her name is widely praised for launching the modern science of eyewitness memory in children as well as using children who have been abused to serve as witnesses in court. Prof. Goodman has published extensively she has received grants from numerous sources and has been awarded many international and national distinctions. She has advised a variety of authorities and government agencies around all over the world on policy as well as research related to the treatment of child victims by the legal system. She currently serves as consultant to the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center located at Sacramento County Child Protective Services (formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center). She is a member of many professional organizations including The Association for Psychological Science and the American Psychological Association (Divisions Experimental Psychology Developmental Psychology Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues Society for Child and Family Policy and Practice American Psychology Law Society Psychology of women and trauma stress 56). Professor Goodman is also a member of Psychonomics Society as well as the American Professional Society for the Abuse of Children and International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. Professor Goodman has served as president of The American Psychological Association's Developmental Division and three Divisions of Children and Families Policy and Practice Division American Psychology Law Society and Division Developmental Psychology.
